Engagement opportunities for 2026
Keep informed and take part when you can
You can subscribe to our Cornwall Together bulletin to be kept informed on the latest health and care news, surveys and engagement opportunities.
Ways to get involved
There are many different ways you can become involved in shaping health and care services in Cornwall and Isles of Scilly. These include:
Long term conditions expert reference group: diabetes, heart and lung conditions
This is a group for people who have lived experience of:
- diabetes (Type 1 and 2)
- cardiovascular (heart) conditions: covers a wide range of disorders affecting the heart and blood vessels, such as coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, and peripheral artery disease
- respiratory (lung) conditions: covers a wide range of ailments affecting the airways and lungs, impacting breathing and gas exchange. Such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), respiratory infections that range from flu and pneumonia
We will work with members of this group to shape the way we plan and develop health and care for these range of long term conditions.
There are different ways for you to get involved and have your say, with both online (virtual) and in-person opportunities available. This could include taking part in surveys, giving feedback in a group discussion to being involved in work to ‘design’ future services alongside our staff.
Email the engagement team to find out more and join the group.

Our commitment to working with people and communities
We are committed to working in partnership with the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to shape the services we commission and provide. We will also work closely with our partners in the NHS, local authorities and the voluntary sector.
You can find out how we plan to inform, involve and engage local people in health and care services by reading our citizen engagement strategy and guidance. We also provide a summary version.
Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has a very diverse population. We are keen to make sure that our involvement is inclusive and will seek out, encourage and welcome participation from people from diverse backgrounds and of all ages.
In working with others, we will ensure we:
- involve people as early as possible in the decision-making process and before any decisions are made.
- provide good information about the subject in question in a way that is understandable and easy to get.
- be open and clear about what is (and is not) possible.
- provide practical support where possible when people are asked to get involved, so that they can take part, for example using sign language interpreters.
- tell people afterwards how their involvement has made a difference.
Demonstrating impact
We use the STAR method (Sharing-Task-Action-Result) method of recording what we and others do, as a result of feedback from the public and our engagement team report this to our Board. As an Integrated Care System, we are currently looking at adopting one single way of demonstrating what changes we make as a result of receiving feedback and making this available on one webpage.
