Your neighbourhood health and wellbeing matters – public invite to planning events

Local people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are being invited to take part in a series of neighbourhood health and wellbeing events in February and March 2026, giving the chance to share your views and help shape future local health and wellbeing plans.

So far over 1,000 people have taken part in our online survey, and local people are now being invited to meet with local neighbourhood teams to find out about what is being done to improve local health and wellbeing and give their ideas and feedback to create new local neighbourhood health and wellbeing plans.

Aisling Crombie, Acting Chief Nursing Officer for NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly said:

“These events are about listening to local people and working together to design local neighbourhood health plans that genuinely reflect the needs of each neighbourhood. We know that the best health and wellbeing outcomes are achieved when care is shaped with communities, not just for them, and these events are a really important part of that conversation.”

People of all ages are invited to take part – as these events form part of the ‘Caring Where It Matters’ campaign, which aims to showcase how services are better delivered closer to home and get the public involved in shaping the future of neighbourhood health and wellbeing across the county.

There will be interactive and creative ways for people to get involved – from drawing what a healthy neighbourhood may look like, to taking part in discussion workshops led by local health professionals from Integrated Neighbourhood Teams. The events will also promote local health and wellbeing support available and offer a range of NHS health checks.

Event dates and locations

• Lanivet Community Centre, Tuesday 10 February 2026, 10am to 4pm
  For patients from Bosvena Health, Fowey River Practice, Lostwithiel Medical Practice and Middleway Surgery.
• Camborne Wesleyan Chapel, Wednesday 11 February 2026, 11am to 4pm
  For patients from Carn to Coast, Godolphin Health, Harris Memorial Surgery, Leatside Health Centre and Veor Surgery.
• Chi Austell (St Austell), Tuesday 17 February 2026, 10am to 4pm
  For patients from Mevagissey Surgery and St Austell Healthcare.
• St Erme Community Centre, Thursday 19 February 2026, 11am to 4pm
  For patients from Lander Medical Practice and Three Spires Medical Practice.
• Isles of Scilly, planned for March 2026.
  Visits planned to St Mary’s and the off-islands. Residents are asked to register their interest and preferred location.

People can attend the drop-in sessions to speak one-to-one with staff, or book on to a dedicated workshop, with in-person and online options available. Transport and additional support can be arranged for people who need help with taking part.

Juliet Ferris, Place Director for West Integrated Care Area, covering the Isles of Scilly and Camborne said:

“Every community has its own strengths, challenges and priorities. These events are a chance for people on the Isles of Scilly and in Camborne to tell us what matters most to them and to help shape practical, local solutions that support healthier lives.”

Derek Thomas, Place Director for Central Integrated Care Area, covering Truro and St Austell said:

“We want people to feel confident that their views really do influence how services develop locally. By coming along to these events in Truro and St Austell, residents can help us focus on what will make the biggest difference to health and wellbeing in their area.”

Tryphaena Doyle, Place Director for North and East Integrated Care Area, covering Lanivet added:

“Lanivet’s event is an opportunity for local people to see how neighbourhood teams are working together, and to share their ideas about how care can be better connected and closer to home. We’re keen to hear from as many voices as possible.”

Anyone who is unable to attend is encouraged to share their views by completing the online survey. There is also an Easy Read version which can be returned by Freepost.
