Calling all Islanders: Help shape the future of health services on Scilly

Posted on:

Health and care services on the Isles of Scilly are entering an exciting new chapter – and local people are being invited to get involved, provide their experience and ideas to shape the future.

The NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly team will visit St Mary’s later this month (30-31 July 2025) to share emerging plans for the islands’ future health and care services. These include the new integrated care facility, a dedicated Integrated Neighbourhood Team for Scilly – bringing together staff from primary care, secondary care, local authority, South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, and Voluntary and Community Social Enterprise partners – and how digital innovations could unlock access to key services for island residents.

Kate Shields, Chief Executive of NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for islanders to hear about the future of health and care on Scilly – and for us to listen to your experiences. We’re investing in facilities, teams and technology to make sure people here get the care they need in ways that work for them. We can’t wait to share more and hear your ideas.”

Juliet Ferris, Place Director for the Isles of Scilly added:

“We’re building a health and care system that works with and for islanders. Our Integrated Neighbourhood Team is already helping to join up care locally, and exciting digital innovations could transform the way services are provided on the islands. This is about tailoring care and support to the unique needs of this community, and we’d love to hear your thoughts.”

The team is encouraging everyone to come along to one of two public workshops to hear more and share their views:

📅 Wednesday 30 July, 5pm to 6.30pm

📅 Thursday 31 July, 9am to 10.30am

📍 Wesleyan Chapel, Hugh Town, St Mary’s
